Description The object is a mostly plain bar shape being rectangular in plan and in cross section while in profile it is very slightly concave. One terminal is flat and square however the opposite narrow edge appears to have been cut its edge being bevelled into a point that looks triangular in side profile. The bar is gold in colour. Dimensions: The bar is 21.6mm long, 6.2mm wide, 3.2mm thick and weighs 5.85 grams. Discussion:  Barring the cut mark on the ingot there are no diagnostic indicators for the date of manufacture. The bezel comprises a raised deep set rectangular ‘box’ with rounded edges which retains a smooth surfaced ovate green stone – possibly an emerald gem or coloured glass. A gold Iron Age Gallo-Belgic quarter stater, dating to the period c.80-60 BC, Gallo-Belgic D / Boat Tree type. Obverse: Boat with two occupants? Pellet to left. Reverse: Tree-like motif, wedge shaped line to either side, forked line below.  The weight of this coin, combined with the pellet in obverse field and wedge shaped motifs in reverse field suggest that this is probably a Gallo-Belgic D rather than an insular British type. A clipped imitation of a medieval gold quarter noble of Edward III (1327-1377). The obverse shows annulets on the cusps of the tressure and a lis in the centre of the reverse suggesting the prototype was a quarter noble of Edward III's Treaty Period, the annulets seen in the 'Transitional Series' of 1361-3 (North 1224), the lis seen in the Treaty Series of 1363-9 (North 1243-4). Description:  A complete gold coin pendant made using an early-medieval solidus of Chlothar II (AD 584–629) struck in Marseille, dating to the period c.AD 613–29 to which a piece of gold has been soldered to form a loop.
