A gold Roman solidus of Constantius II (AD 323-361), dating to the period c.AD 347-348 (Reece period 18). VICTORIAE DD NN AVGG reverse type depicting Two Victories standing facing one another holding a wreath inscribed VOT/XX/MVLT/XXX. Mint of Trier. RIC VIII, p. 147, no. 132. This type is not recorded in Bland and Loriot (2010) amongst the 19 British finds of solidi noted by them for Constantius II.

Complete d-shaped finger-ring of the mourning/memorial/memento-mori type. The exterior of the ring is heavily worked with deeply incised decoration. A skull is the central motif, to its right a reserve of cross-hatched lozenges, an oval-shaped flower with lozenges at its centre, a reserve of cross-hatched lozenges, a further flower, and a final reserve of cross-hatched lozenges, before returning to the skull. A medieval finger-ring in the form of a flat band. The exterior and interior surfaces are both engraved with an inscription in French which reads as follows: Exterior: ne vieil autre (‘not wanting another’) Interior: + cest don damy (‘it is a gift from a friend’). Each word of the inscription is separated by flowers. The ring is slightly distorted into an oval shape and part of the engraving of the interior appears to have been rubbed away. The finger-ring is gold and dates from the fifteenth century.

A gold post-medieval finger-ring with bezel in the form of a bourchier knot, the band worked as if ropes wreathed with ribbons. Traces of white enamel survive on what appears to be one of the ribbons, and it is possible – although no other traces survive – that the ring was once extensively enamelled in two or more tones. A medieval finger-ring with a slender hoop and a bezel in the form of four folded back petals and set with a turquoise. Each of the petals is engraved with a curvilinear design and the shoulders of the ring are incised with two sets of diagonal lines. The engraved decoration is very much worn. Description: Gold ‘bead’ or pendant loop fragment decorated with filigree wire. The fragment shows no sign of wear and no sign of solder and may be one end of a biconical bead or pendant. It is made of sheet gold and decorated with seven horizontal panels separated by two strands of wire, z- and s- twisted to form a tight herringbone pattern. Each panel is filled with beaded filigree wire scrolls panels soldered to the gold sheet so that they just touch each other. The surviving end is edged with a collar of plain wire.

Fragment of a gold ingot, one end rounded and thick, the other broken away jaggedly and transversely. The two broad surfaces are flat and smooth except adjacent to the break where a rounded hammer mark of the full width is visible on both.
