The object is composed of a rectangular cross sectioned band which has been distorted, likely by post-depositional processes. The band expands to raised shoulders and pentagonal bezel which are hollow due to the object’s construction from a folded sheet of gold. A gold later medieval or early post medieval gem-set ring with a square or box bezel. The bezel is set into the hoop and is 4.2mm wide.
