A very worn and damaged medieval gold quarter noble of Edward III. Most of the coin is illegible, but the letter E at the beginning of the obverse legend allows the ruler to be identified as Edward III. As it is so damaged, it has not been possible to date the coin more closely than to the broad dates of Edward's reign, from 1327 to 1377.
