A gold composite object, possibly a cap hook, consisting of a domed central 'head' which only partially protrudes from the bowl of a shallow, dish-like base. The underside of the base is a thin, plain gold sheet and is damaged; a small sliver, maybe one sixteenth of the total area of the base, is missing. The underside of the base bulges outward, in the opposite direction to the head.
