A celtic gold stater of the Trinovantes, Tasciovanus' first coinage, dating from 25-20BC. (Note that Van Arsdell considers the coinage of the Catuvellauni to be indistinguishable from that of the Trinovantes). It is struck on an oval flan that is 13mm long, 11mm wide and 1.8mm thick. It weighs 1.35gm. Reference: van Arsdell, Celtic Coinage of Britain, number 1688-1.
