A complete gold finger ring of medieval date, c.AD 1200 - 1400. The hoop of the finger ring is ovate in section, widening to molded shoulders and an integral bezel. The bezel is a shallow octagonal collet which retains a faceted dark red gemstone. The reverse of the collet is flat and undecorated. Rectangular collars extend from opposite sides of the bezel, decorated with incised transverse lines, from which short plain narrowed bands project.
