An incomplete strip of decorated gold, of probable Bronze Age dating (c. 1500 BC to c. 800 BC). The strip of gold is sub rectangular in shape and has been folded into a sub triangular shape. The strip has been decorated with a series of embossed ridges along its length. One end has a relatively straight and smooth cut edge, the other end is hidden inside the folds. It measures 13.2 mm in length, 4.4. mm wide and 4.0 mm thick. It weighs 1.1 g. An incomplete strip of decorated gold, of probable Bronze Age dating (c. 2150 BC to c. 1150 BC). The strip of gold is sub rectangular in plan, and is folded horizontally (width ways) in half twice, forming a squashed 'S' shape. The strip has been decorated with a series of embossed ridges along its length. The strip has been severed at one end, with a ragged edge. The other edge can not be easily seen as it is hidden between the folds. It measures 25.3 mm in length, 16.1 mm wide and 9.1 mm thick. The strip is 0.8 mm thick. It weighs 5.2. g. One end is a neat flat-ended terminal with rounded corners, the other is a ragged break. The back is flat, while the front carries twenty-one very finely incised grooves aligned longitudinally. A neatly-worked plain circular solid gold ring of hexagonal cross-section. The inner lightly-convex face bears a distinct wear-shine. There is only slight damage on the other faces. This massive ring looks as though it may have formed the linking component of a composite object or suite of fittings. Length of gold rod with octagonal cross-section, bifacially cut at one end, the other end having a plain terminal. The piece is bent. Length 85mm; thickness 5mm; weight 2.7 grams. Identification: Analogies occur in the Bronze Age hoard of 42 gold pieces from Fitzleroi Farm, W. Sussex which included a number of elements including small complete rings and fragments of other ornament types. Octagonal- section rods were present.
