A gold solidus of Gratian (AD 367-383); VICTORIA AVGG reverse; minted at Milan during the mint's fourth period of AD 378-383. Ref: RIC Vol. IX, p. 77, no. 5d. The coin has little wear but it is slightly bent and scuffed at one point. It measures 20.6mm in diameter, 0.6mm thick and weighs 4.54g.

Hollow cast Roman gold finger-ring, oval hoop with smoothly swelling profile and flattened bezel set flush with an oval orangy-red carnelian intaglio. The intaglio depicts an animal, a mouse or possibly a rabbit (?) facing left on a corn ear with a circular, arrow type device below. The ring is rather squashed and damaged, probably after burial. Reference: the ring compares well with an example published by Henig 1978, no 623. Date: 1st to 2nd century AD. Ext. d.: 24.7mm Int. d.: 19.4mm Wt.: 6.49g Dr. Richard Hobbs.

A Roman gold coin of uncertain emperor. Probably a solidus, possibly of Valens or Valentinian. The coin has been heavily worn (deliberately ?) in antiquity, removing most surface detail. It is also bent. It measures 15.6mm diameter by 0.7mm thick and weighs 1.93g.
