Reverse: bust of angel or Victory with wings above two facing heads (emperors), circular ornament below representing the globe in the prototype (Metcalf 79-80; N.20; S.767)

Fragment of a gold finger-ring, comprising the bezel and part of the hoop. The bezel is oval-shaped with the remains of an integral hoop at each end: approximately 3mm at one and 8mm at the other. The surviving portion shows that the hoop originally tapered inwards, the narrowest surviving point being about 2mm. It is flat in cross-section. The front of the bezel is decorated with an applied design executed in gold granulation and beaded wire filigree. The beaded wire is much worn, with the individual beads now difficult to discern. Description: Fragment of an applied gold disc from the centre of an early medieval composite disc brooch. The fragment is part of the curved edge of the disc. Around the outer edge is a border of fine gold beaded wire. The flat part of the disc is decorated with tiny annulets of gold beaded wire and the remains of three settings. One is circular with a collar made from gold strip, now flattened, within a border of gold beaded wire. The setting is now empty and the centre is pierced. A squashed and torn gold fragment, presumably formerly a biconical necklace bead. The scale-like appearance of the surface was produced by nicking the surface with a fine, sharp tool and lifting it up minutely. The back of the fragment is plain and there is damage in form of a small hole near the narrower, lipped end. Examples of such beads are now more numerous due to recent metal-detector finds, for instance from Rowington, Warks. (TAR 2001/74; PAS-2B1E44) or from Ogbourne St Andrew , Wilts. Small gold buckle consisting of an oval loop with a tongue with curved tip and a hinged, high-rectangular plate. Three rivets in form of small cabochon garnets set inside a triple frame made from a plain gold and two beaded wire collars are arranged across the plate. The middle garnet is cracked. The tongue rest shows signs of wear and the back of the plate is plain except for the three rivet stumps.
