A fragment of gold jewellery, probably of Roman date. c.1st to 3rd century AD. Description: The fragment consists of a loop of filigree, circular in section, that is now broken at one end. The surviving part forms a straight section that terminates in an ovoid loop. This straight section is decorated with granulation, in the form of two pairs of spheres at each end and five in the centre. The arrangement of the links goes as follows: two wire links, one figure of 8 link, one wire link, one figure of 8 link, two wire links, joined by a smaller gold wire loop (perhaps a repair?), one figure of 8 link, one wire loop. A fragment of gold jewellery possibly a necklace element dating to the Roman period. The fragment comprises a rectangular-section strip of gold wire which has been looped and bent to form an openwork motif, possibly a flower. This motif possesses four central circular loops and was possibly originally surrounded by four outer loops representing petals. Two fragments of circular-section gold wire are looped through the underside of the openwork element and secured by wrapping the wire around itself. The fragment has a length of 12mm, a width of 9mm and a weight of 0.46grams.

A slightly tapering gold tube with coiled wire decoration attached to it near the wider end and about two-thirds of the way down. The wider end is closed by a flat plate, secured from coming out by the ends of the tube being bent over. The plate now sits at an angle, with one side pushed slightly down the tube, but it would appear that it originally sat square to the end of the tube. A Roman gold gem-set oval mount. The rubbed-over oval box setting is encircled by a decorative flange with a symmetrical petal motif. Two small projecting open circular rings, one at either end of the long axis of the mount are fused to the back of the flange. Treasure case 2010 T527: Brewood area, Staffs. A Roman gold necklace link. The plain wire oval frame, looped at both ends, encloses a central bar and double-pelta motif made from filigree beaded wire. Clear signs of wear are visible on the internal distal end of the fastening loops. This is probably a small link from a composite gold necklace interspersing simple links like this one with gems or gem-set components (c.f. Marshall 1911, 2730 and C.M. One section of wire is plain, whilst the central section is threaded with a blue-glass polyhedral faceted bead. The final wire, probably the clasp, has an applied four-spoke wheel in plain and beaded wire, with a central bead.
