Gold mid 7th-century tremisssis, probably struck in France c AD 630. the blundered inscription, in pseudo-lettering, is inspired by the coins of Chalon, which have CA for Chalon either side of a Byzantine cross. The Fitzwilliam Museum examined the coin and discovered that it has a specific gravity of 15.75 (c.72% gold + 28% silver). EMC 2005.0041 [merovingian]

A gold thrymsa, Crondall phase issue, known as the 'witmen monita' type. The coin belongs to (what seems to be) a later phase of their issue on a smaller flan (c.11.5-12mm) but the same weight (c.1.3g). The reverse legend is a much blundered version of 'WITMEN MONITA'. cf. Crondall Hoard nos. 69-79, especially no. 79 (Metcalf 1993, Thrymsas and Sceattas, pl. I no. 11), and also another in Sutherland's Anglo-Saxon Gold Coinage in the Biblioteque Nationale (Sutherland Pl. IV no. 12). Early to mid 7th century, c. 600-675 AD.

A tremissis or pseudo-tremissis of the 7th century, which has been pierced and gilded for use as a pendant. The tremissis is a coin type widely issued by the Merovingian Franks in this period, but also produced by the Anglo-Saxons and Frisians. Such coins were produced in fairly good gold at the beginning of the century, but with the gold contained declining as the century progressed, with the gold increasingly replaced by silver. A Merovingian gold tremissis; no parallel in Belfort or Prou. The mint is uncertain; the coin appears to read OTAREGCA but this does not match any known mint. The moneyer however is Deairenasea, who is also known from the mint Plailly, (Oise) France (see, for example, EMC 2007.0069). Late 6th or 7th century, c. 590-670 AD.

Medieval Coin: Folded and incomplete gold quarter noble or quarter ryal issued between the reigns of Edward III (1327-1377) and the first reign of Edward IV (1461-1470). Due to the folded and incomplete condition of the coin it has not been possible to more closely identify this coin. It can however be said that it is not one of the early issues of Edward III as the shield is in a tressure of 8 arches rather than 6 arches. The date range for the issue of this coin is therefore AD 1351-1470.

A pale gold 7th-century Anglo-Saxon shilling modified for usage as a pendant or similar item, c.660-680 AD. It is of Sutherland type II.ii.var: Roman: Constantine (26var) with star-like object on the obverse instead of hand and cross as in Sutherland 26. The coin has been pierced and the remains of a separately cast cylindrical silver rivet are present towards one side of the flan, indicative of modification for usage as something other than a coin.
