Continental Iron Age gold coin. Gallo-Belgic Cd gold quarter stater (Class 2), Sills 445 / Scheers 14. C.80-60BC. Slightly dished on the reverse. Diameter 9.84mm, thickness 2.40mm, weight 1.72g.
This is the continental uninscribed progenitor of the British produced quarter stater 'British O'. These are highly unusual in Britain - there only seem to be c.four known in Britain, all found south of Essex.
