A bent gold post-medieval coin; a Britain crown of James I (1603-1625), dating from AD 1605/6. Second coinage (1604-1619), initial mark: rose. North (1991), p145, number 2090.  Measurements are; diameter 20.9m, thickness in its bent state 2.7mm and weight 2.46g.  The metal is 0.4mm thick.

A Post-Medieval gold double-crown of James I, AD 1603-1625. The obverse shows a crowned bust right. The obverse initial mark is a crescent. The obverse legend reads IACOBVS.'D.'G.'MA.'BRI.'FRAN.'ET.'HIB.'REX. The reverse shows a royal shield surmounted by a crown. The reverse initial mark is a crescent (dating the coin to AD 1617-1618). The reverse legend reads HENRICVS.ROSAS.REGNA.IACOBVS. Die axis is either 7 or 8 o'clock. This coin was found in a bent condition.
