An early medieval gold tremissis of uncertain type, probably belonging to the Merovingian 'mint and moneyer'/'national'  series dating to the period c.AD580-670. The 'obverse' shows a potential monogram with the letters AX to the side, and may be influenced by the mongrams seen of, for example, some of the Merovingian royal coins. The 'reverse' may show a devolved Victory, possibly facing. Measurements: 10mm in diameter and 1.38g in weight.

The inscriptions on both obverse and reverse are truncated, struck partially off the flan. The coin appears to be unlisted in de Belfort (1892-5) and Prou (1892).
