Description: An incomplete Post Medieval gold finger ring probably of the later 1600s.
The bezel of the ring is rectangular in shape with short sides forming a shallow hollow cup in which the missing gem would have sat. All the sides of the bezel bow outwards and have inwardly tapering upper edges that are crescentic in shape and have rounded lips. Below this, the exterior is decorated with two parallel downward curving grooves that extend from corner to corner, as well as stippled decoration on the apex of each corner. A gold Roman finger-ring with stone intaglio setting surviving in place. This is a Guiraud type 2 which is dated to c. AD 0 - AD 300. The finger-ring weighs 9.2g. The hoop forms an oval shape with 'D' shaped cross-section. It has a maximum height of 16.2mm including the setting, width of 19.0mm and thickness of 11.8mm.

An incomplete late Post-Medieval to Modern gold brooch set with purple gem-stones.
This incomplete artefact weighs 1.22g. It has an asymmetrical ovoid shape, having one wider rounded end and tapering to a point at the other end, that curves over to one side. The shape could also be described as an asymmetrical falling water-droplet (tear-drop) shape. Overall the brooch measures 17.3mm x 13.1mm with a thickness of 2.2mm. The brooch has an aperture at the centre that vaguely mimics the shape of the external edge of the artefact.

A Medieval gold annular brooch weighing 1.34g. The brooch frame has a triangular cross-section with a flat undecorated reverse surface. The frame has an external diameter of 16.5mm and the internal diameter of the loop is 11.9mm. The frame has a thickness of 0.9mm.
1.6mm of the frame's circumference contracts to form a pin constriction. This constriction reduces the width of the frame, at this place, to c.0.9mm. An incomplete gold and gem finger ring of Medieval dating (13th Century AD).
Around 50 percent of the finger ring is present, with one shoulder and part of the hoop missing. The bezel consists of a raised hexagonal collet, with a partial green gem inside. Four circular satellite collets are located to either side and top and bottom. The gems are missing from two of the collets. A Medieval gold stirrup-shaped finger-ring with remains of a stone setting. The band has a slight D-shaped cross-section the convex inner surface of the band being a little flatter than the convex curve of the outer surface. The band has a width of 1.5mm and thickness of 0.7mm. The band forms a loop 17.8mm wide and 20.2mm tall. A complete gold ring of EarlyMedieval date (AD 575-1000). The object comprises an annular ring formed from gold beaded wire. It is now slightly distorted and slightly worn.

A gold posy finger-ring inscribed on the inside of the band 'MY Hart and I untell I die'. The finger-ring is in good condition with a circular hoop of 18.5mm external diameter. The band has a thickness of 1.7mm and width of 3.7mm. The band is a continuous loop although the two ends appear to have been joined by solder at the location of the gap between the beginning and end of the inscription then smoothed in an attempt to hide the join. Gold finger ring with an inscription around the exterior of the hoop in Gothic or 'black letter' script. The hoop has an anticlastic curvature, and is plain on the interior. The three words read SANS NUL MAL (Without any ill). An engraved floral motif consisting of a single five petalled flower and sprig of leaves separates each word and there are two such motifs after the third word.
The edges are very sharp with no sign of wear. The soldered joining line is visible on the inside of the hoop, and lies just before the first and longest word of the inscription.

A "small ring with an internal diameter of only 18mm. The hoop is 8 mm. wide, and the metal about 1 mm. thick, though this is variable. The object weighs 5.93 grammes, and the gold is of the high level of purity usual in Roman jewellery, with a composition of approximately 96 per cent gold, 3.5 per cent silver, and 0.8 copper. A complete gold posy ring dating to the post medieval period.
The object is circular in plan and D-shaped in section. The edges of the ring are quite sharp suggesting that it was not worn for long before being lost. There is a little bit of damage to the ring, possibly from a plough. The outside of the ring is smooth and undecorated with a matt finish, possibly due to being in the ground.
