Measurements: 21.73mm; thickness: 0.73mm and weight: 2.38g A short section of the outer flan incorporating the legend is missing, possibly clipped out, between 5 and 6 0'clock on the obverse.

Double-crown of Charles II dating from 1660-1662. No value to the R of the bust. The obverse of the coin appears to have been double-struck. The coin dates from 1660-62 before the hammering process was superceded by Blondeau's machinery in 1663. The coin has been pierced at 6 o'clock and was probably re-used as part of a necklace. CAROLVS D G MAG BR FR ET HI' REX Reverse: oval sheild between crowned C and R CVLTORES SVI DEVS PROTEGIT The left hand side of both the obverse and reverse appear very worn. However, the legends are very sharp and in mint condition. The wear is therefore a result of a worn die rather than coin use.
