Late North Eastern British Iron Age uninscribed gold quarter staters (attributed to the Corieltavi) struck circa 60 -20 BC are varieties of 'Lindsey Scyphate' S quarter staters. ABC 1773 type, BMC 3190.
Obverse: highly stylised boar
Reverse: S-shaped design with a ring-pellet in each cusp; a pair of anthropomorphic half-faces with curved brows triangular nose and round eyes positioned either side of the S-shape. Pellets fill the remaining space.
