Cast gold ‘sword pyramid’ comprising two conjoined trapezoidal sides and a square framed top, now flattened in the manner of a flat-pack and perhaps originally formed as a flat sheet cut and folded to shape – if so, the mount would have been both hollow and fragile. This buckle parallels the form of Marzinzik Typegroup II.19b and is the only recorded buckle in this group with garnet and gold cloisonné setting. A gold early medieval finger ring of the Viking period (c. 1000-1100). The ring is made of a curved rod with a rectangular cross-section and bevelled edges. The rod is wider (c. 4 mm) at the centre and tapers to the back where the ends are drawn into wires (2 mm in diameter) which overlap and are wound once round each other. Overall, the ring has an external diameter of 24 mm and an internal diameter of 17 mm. It weighs 8.56 g.
