An incomplete silver Thimble of Modern date (AD 1800-1900). The object is composed of a pressed metal sheet, the upper dome is missing, and the lower band is composed of a short flattened separate fragment.  The main body of the object is flattened and distorted with evenly machine stamped square pits on the upper surface, forming a lattice pattern. An incomplete machine-made silver thimble of modern date, c.AD 1850 – 1950. The thimble is flattened and folded with the dome lost to old worn breaks. The upper half of the thimble is decorated with regular tessellating hexagonal pits. The lower half displays foliate decoration formed of stippling and machine pressed grooves. A complete silver Thimble of Modern date (AD 1800-1900). The object is composed of a pressed metal domed form with an outer lower decorated band and foot ring, with evenly machine stamped square pits on the upper surface, forming a lattice pattern. The lower portion of the object has a pair of circumferential raised borders, between which is a repeating decorative motif, composed of a raised ovate cell which is a single flower.  The inner surface is undecorated. The obect is a pressed metal domed thimble with a foot ring and a plain basal zone, a series of regularly spaced horizontal bands before a wide machine stamped circular pitted zone. A small section of the top circle of the thimble is missing.  The length is 25mm, the width is 20mm and the weight 4.20g. Read (2018: 64-67) illustrates similar thimbles dating from the mid 17th to 18th century.
