The whetstone is 78mm in length, sub rectangular and narrow with rounded ends and oval cross section. The wider end has a drilled hole for suspension. An incomplete whetstone of a fine-grained micaceous grey stone. The stone has a glittery appearance. It is trapezoidal in shape with one pitted but fairly smooth end and a broken end with jagged edges. The stone is 25mm wide at the smooth end but then bulges slightly to a width of 28mm approximately 15 mm along its length before tapering slightly to width of 22mm at the jagged end. A complete dolorite whetstone, of uncertain dating but probably Neolithic to Modern (3,300 BC to AD 1900). Top and bottom of the whetstone are pointed oval shapes, whereas the sides are more boat shaped, with one end taller than the other. The upper surface of the whetstone is an elognated pointed oval shape, with a sloping surface. Polishing is present on the surface, along with multiple parallel striations.
