Incomplete whetstone. The stone is rectangular in cross section, measuring 54mm x 20mm x 7mm and tapers to 8mm x 14mm. Both ends are broken and sides of the whetstone are highly worn. The 'fibrous' structure of the this whetstone suggests that it is made from schist and is likely to imported.

A very large whetstone, measuring 398mm x 45mm x 30mm. The whetstone is rectangular in plan and also in cross-section. The whetstone is a very fine grained light brown-grey colour, originally discovered in three pieces at the same place and later restored by the finder. The whetstone is very smooth and worn on three faces only. The fourth face is less smooth and has a different patina to the rest of the object, having a dark grey-brown patina extending approximately 3/4ths of the length.

An incomplete whetstone of a fine-grained micaceous grey stone. The stone has a glittery appearance. It is trapezoidal in shape with one pitted but fairly smooth end and a broken end with jagged edges. The stone is 25mm wide at the smooth end but then bulges slightly to a width of 28mm approximately 15 mm along its length before tapering slightly to width of 22mm at the jagged end. An incomplete, fine-grained sandstone whetstone of unknown date. The object is sub-oval in section and sub-triangular in plan, tapering to a blunt point at one end. The object has broken at one end and the remainder of the whetstone has been lost. Dating of whetstones is difficult as they were used from the Bronze Age to modern times. The object is 80.78 mm in length, 28.42 mm thick (at the base) and 27.57 mm in width. It weighs 93.90g.

The irregularity of the other sides is more akin to the way in which the stone would probably naturally break, rather than having been intentionally made into a whetstone.
