Fragment of a large sub-rectangular sectioned whetstone, of fine-grained non micaceous mid grey stone with lighter, linier streaks throughout, both ends are broken, the surviving section appears to be the centre with all sides constricted from use wear, one only subtlety worn, one face has a prominent, rounded groove that runs down the length on the centre, this must have been wear from one specialised form of grinding or sharpening.

One half of a whetstone of fine-grained non micaceous mid-grey stone, perforated at one end by a drilled hole with a slightly “hourglass” cross section, this originally made the recorder think that this may have been a Beaker period stone wrist bracer with a single hole, further research has shown many of the whetstones from the Early Medieval/Medieval period had similar profiled perforations and is now much more likely to be of this later date and function. Fragment of a late Saxon or medieval Norwegian ragstone hone both ends missing, parts of two faces and of one straight side only. Extant length 47.5mm, thickness 5 - 6.5mm. Weight 8.9g. Norwegian Ragstone was imported in quantity before the Conquest (Moore, D.T. and Ellis, S.E. in Rogerson and Dallas 1984, 107-11) and in Norfolk remained "the preferred material for hones during the late medieval period" (Mills, J.M. with Moore, D. in Shepherd Popescu 2009, 709). 10th - 15th century.

An elongated whetstone, of sub-square section with both ends either broken or left unworked from the natural piece of slightly banded schist stone this was ground from, all four sides appear to have been used to sharpen knives, sickles etc. and are quite smooth to the touch. Incomplete medieval to post-medieval honestone of very hard, fine-grained, pinkish grey micaceous sandstone. At the break the cross-section is trapezoidal, 42 x 19-23mm, and at the end it is rectangular, 64 x 43mm. Three faces are gently concave. The fourth face, a narrow one, is flat but scoured by two deep V-section sharpening grooves which run the full length. There are two shallower grooves on the end. A fragment of a probable Early Medieval to Medieval pendant whetstone. The stone is rectangular in both plan and cross-section. At one end it is perforated by a circular hole to secure it via a thong or suspension ring to a strap or belt.
