A fine-grained, dark grey stone, oval-ended and broken at one end, of uncertain date. It has been used as a whetstone for sharpening blades. The stone is natural, not deliberately shaped, oval in section, thickening and widening to the broken end. The complete end is rounded. The top of the whetstone shows signs of brown 'polish' and has numerous shallow, linear grooves in the surface. A possible whetstone of unknown date. It is sub-oval in plan with rounded edges. It is a rounded oval in cross-section. The object tapers either side towards the two shorter edges. It is made from a grey stone. There are linear grooves on all the surfaces, possibly caused by sharpening tools. Part of the stone has been broken on one of the larger surfaces. It is difficult to say that this is definitely a whetstone as natural stones could be used for this purpose without much working to make them suitable. It weighs >1kg and measures 114.07mm in length and 52.97mm in width.

Possible whetstone of unknown date. It is sub-oval in plan with rounded edges. It is a rounded oval in cross-section also with all edges rounded. It is made from a brown-grey stone. There are linear grooves on all the surfaces, possibly caused by sharpening tools. It is difficult to say that this is definitely a whetstone as natural stones could be used for this purpose without much working to make them suitable, this appears to be in that group.
