Roman earthenware vessel rim sherd from Derbyshire Ware jar. Diameter c.20cm (+- 2cm). Reduced fired coarse grey fabric with out-turned rim, which is slightly concave on the upper surface and convex on the lower surface. Pimply 'goose-flesh petrified' surfaces numerous white quartz and non-crystalline white inclusions, sparse non-crystalline grey inclusions. Weight 26.27g.

Oxidised fired coarse orange fabric with out-turned rim with rounded lip, which is slightly concave on the upper surface and convex on the lower surface. Pimply 'goose-flesh petrified' surfaces numerous white quartz and non-crystalline cream inclusions, sparse non-crystalline grey inclusions. Weight 47.12g.

Ceramic spindle whorl diameter 31mm, height 17mm, weight 14.23g. The artefact is conical shaped with slightly convex sides, there are four concentric lines on the top surface and two on the underside. 10mm in diameter in the centre, light grey fabric. The ceramic used for the spindle whorl is similar to the fabric of grey were vessels from the Roman Period, therefore a roman date is ascribed.

Four fragments of fossil shell tempered ware average length 23mm, width 21mm. thickness 8mm. Soft fabric, abundant crushed limestone fragments <1mm and very occasional larger fragments <6mm, with scattered shell and fossil fragments throughout. Dark grey/black core with dark orange outer in half of the shards. This pottery is found in the south Worcestershire are but has no associated kiln, these date to 400BC to 100BC. Thirteen fragments of organically tempered Severn Valley ware average length 33mm, width 28mm, thickness 8mm. Eleven body shards, and two rim fragments, one of the rims has a double linear grove running around the top external surface. Grey core with an orange exterior, small elongated voids in the fabric left by the organic material. These are dated to the mid 1st century to the 4th century.

Fragment of clay roof tile with a slight curve in its profile. It apparantly has one original edge. It measures 54.5x46x12.1mm and weighs 39.48g. The fabric has had small inclusions eroded out. It is oxidised with a greyware core (not visible on the original edge). Possibly medieval in date, possibly post medieval, or possibly later.

Medieval earthenware vessel fragment, rim sherd from pancheon (large bowl), 14th-16th century. Incised wavy line decoration around the upper surface of the rim. Oxidised coarse sandy fabric with a pimply appearence to the surfaces. Inclusions - numerous ill-sorted rounded and angular quartz sands, sparse non-crystalline orange-red (possibly grog?), rare non-crystalline ?iron-rich red. Orange ?slipped surface, buff fabric with light grey core. Weight 114.7g.
