Earthenware floor tile length 78mm, width 91mm, thickness 12mm. This is a fragment of a decorated square floor tile. Two processes of applying the design have been utilised on this tile. The first method, used mainly on the small detail, was to press a carved wooden block into clay while it was still wet, the recesses were then filled with a white clay. The second method, used on the bold central decoration, was to print the image directly onto the unaltered surface using a white clay slip. The base of the vessel is slightly rounded suggesting it may have been made to sit in a fire and would probably have been used as a cooking pot. The 24 fragments may come from one vessel

78 fragments for roman brooch moulds. There are a number of different brooch styles represented by the assemblage such as Dolphin/ T-shaped with a hinged mechanism, and Hod Hill. None of the moulds are complete, about 50% of the group consist of fragments from the head or wings of the brooch, the rest are from the leg. Evidence for the lower part of the brooch is marked by their absence as there are no fragments that have any evidence for the foot or catchplate. Rim fragment of a Cotswold ware jar length 146mm, height 70mm, thickness 9mm. The core is grey with a buff exterior, limestone inclusions many of which have leeched out to leave voids shell fragments and some red iron ore inclusions (<2.0mm). lead green glaze around the rim angled incised lines run around the outside. Judging by the angle of the remaining wall this jug would have been bulbous. This artefact dates to the 12th-13th century.

Earthen ware pottery fragment length 86mm, width 96mm, thickness 15mm, weight 117.8g. Reduced dark grey fabric with frequent mica, occasional black grog tempering <2mm, infrequent lime stone inclusions. Grey core, buff exterior. Straight side walls, there is a lip below the rim which has an undulating outside edge and stabbed decoration on the top edge. The vessel would have had a sagging base. this type of vessel would have been made in the north Gloucestershire/Worcestershire area and dates to the 11th-12th century.
