Roman amphora handle sherd. Round in section with a slightly raised central longitudinal rib. Oxidised buff fabric. Inclusions of golden mica, common ill-sorted angular and sub-rounded white quartz (c.0.2-3.5mm with some of the larger fragments perhaps being feldspar), sparse brown and black rock fragments (0.5-3.3mm), and bright red-orange clay? (0.5-3.0mm). Handle (just below shoulder) width c.52mm & thickness c.50mm, weight 621.2g. Late medieval or early post medieval earthenware vessel rim sherd, late Medieval/early Post Medieval Midlands Purple upright jar rim sherd, simple flattened slightly everted and lid-seated rim, four grooves around the outer surface starting 35mm from top of vessel. Purple-brown fabric (more purple on the inside), one splash of ?clear glaze on outer surface. Pimply appearance to surfaces; inclusion include common white, shiny black, sparse quartz and rare non-crystalline grey. Diameter of rim c.250mm, weight 55.66g.

Numerous quartz sands 0.3mm-2.5mm, common orange clay inclusions 0.8mm-1.8mm, sparse non-crystalline ?iron-rich red inclusions 1.5mm-2.3mm, sparse non-crystalline dark grey inclusions 0.9mm-1.2mm. One side is flat, the other has a raised curved ridge; to either side of the ridge circular-sectioned holes (diameter c.2.5mm) have been pushed through from the ridged side to the flat side. Oxidised fired sandy orange fabric. Uncertain function - possibly a sieve? Uncertain date - possibly Roman? Length 47.5mm, width 26.3mm, thickness 21.4mm, weight 22.95g.

Medieval earthenware jug handle & rim sherd. Strap handle with stabbed hole decoration (the holes penetrate from top to bottom of the handle). Upright rim flat on top. Green-yellow external glaze. Coarse buff fabric with orange outer surfaces, common quartz inclusions (c.0.6mm-3mm) and sparse non-crystalline red ?clay inclusions. Diameter of rim uncertain, width & thickness of handle at break 36mm x 16mm. Weight 83.0g. Green moss on this sherd show it has been in the open air for some time.
