Fragments of an iron scale tang knife with a bone handle dating to the Post-medieval period (c. AD 1500-1700). There are now four pieces, found on the same day in different parts of the garden, c.3-4 inches below the ground level. The four fragments probably represent at least two knife handles. The bone handles are D-shaped in section and is held in place with iron rivets. The handle is decorated with a cross-hatch pattern along the long edge of the handle, with a series of short parallel, diagonal lines, down the centre. A bone roundel, measuring 21mm in diameter and 5mm thick. The item is circular in plan and plano-convex in section, being in the form of a flower head. The domed surface has a pellet in the centre with a notched collar surround it. Twelve petals radiating from it collar. Each petal has four deep notches to it. The outer edge of the item is decorated with five or six notches. The revese h as a recessed roundel carved into it. There is no evidence of any attachment. The item is possible post-medieval, and possibly a mount from a box.

A complete Roman bone gaming piece or counter. The counter is flat, circular, and decorated with five concentric circles on the upper surface (including the rim). This decoration was possibly produced through turning on a lathe.The base is flat and undecorated, but a series of linear scratches indicate that the item was dragged across a surface, sometimes forceably. A post-medieval bone scoop dating to the 18th century. This scoop has been manufactured from a sheep's metapodial. The distal end of the bone forms the handle with the articular condyles left intact. The shaft is filed all over, with linear incised decoration on the front only. This comprises four unevenly spaced lines following the direction of the shaft. Probable incomplete bone veneer from a box. The veneer is triangular in cross-seciton and decorated with three sets of paired collars, leaving two larger panels visible on the object. One end is complete, and the panel at this end has a circular hole through it containing a bone pin. The other end of the veneer is incomplete. The bone is a whitish colour and may have been burnt, suggesting that it may once been attached to a box placed on a cremation pyre.
