A small flint bladelet core of later Neolithic date struck from a mottled grey flint. The core is conical with a single striking platforms which is poorly prepared or defined and a bulbar scar is evident on this platform where the core was removed as a thick flake from its original nodule. Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Hampshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A small flint tabular bladelet core of later prehistoric / Bronze Age date struck from a grey flint with white patination / re-cortication from deposition in calcareous sediments. There appears to be a single striking platform, with parallel removal scars around approximately half of the circumference. Some of these are partially patinated and some break the patination, suggesting several phases of use and re-use.

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A large flint blade core of later mesolithic date with a single striking platform, struck from a dark brown flint. The core is triangular in shape with parallel removal scars around half of its circumference. A patch of grey-brown cortex remains down one side. The other has a single large removal scar with battering damage and small flaked removals around the edge, running off it one side perpendicular to the striking platform and partially overlying it. This suggests a secondary use for the core, possibly as a hammer.

Flint possible core fragment. A small chunk with narrow parallel flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a rounded or bulbar ventral surface. A creamy patina across all struck surfaces suggests the object has subsequently endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment, and iron-spotting may suggest its incorporation in gravel. More than one episode of working is possible. As the find-spot is not on chalk the patina may hint that it has been imported. Suggested date: possibly Late Mesolithic, 7000-4000 BC

Flint pebble with cortex, core. A chunk with broad parallel flakes detached by unidirectional working from a flat striking platform. A dense creamy patina across all struck surfaces suggests the object has subsequently endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment, and iron-spotting may suggest its incorporation in gravel. A secondary core trimming or rejuvenation flake of Mesolithic or later date, struck from a dark grey flint and 42.5mm in length. The flake is curved, with a small striking platform at the proximal end with a low bulbar scar suggesting soft-hammer removal. There are a number of parallel removal scars on the proximal half of the dorsal surface, including one which has resulted in a hinge fracture. A large patch of brown coloured cortex remains on the curved distal end.

A complete flint probable Core Rejuvenation Flake of Mesolithic date (9000-3450 BC). The object is conical in shape and exhibits a single striking platform. There are multiple negative flake removals from blade production. The ventral surface is flat with two negative scars. All edges with the exception of the striking platform have rough semi-abrupt retouch and suggests the object is a utilised flake. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake.
The flint is dark grey in colour.
