Fragment of a core which has part of the prepared platform and scars from repeated parallel removals of blades / flakes form it. The sides, distal end and ventral face are all broken with irregular breaks, made angular due to the burnt surface and with no bulb of percussion visible. The surface is white with angular crack marks. The piece is 35.9mm wide, 27.2mm long, 8.8mm thick and weighs 6.92 grams. The working style and associated material may suggest a Neolithic date.

Four large irregularly shaped peices of burnt flint, probably dating to the Late Neolthic or Early Bronze Age, c. 2900-1600 BC, as suggested by the composition of the assemblage of which they are a part. All four flints feature characteristic irregular broken surfaces, with flints 1, 3 and 4 also being patinated a pale grey through exposure to heat. Flint 2 retains original dark brown/black colour. None of the flints show any indications of being worked, and flints 3 and 4 both retain areas of cortex on their surface. The group weighs 121.1g.

A group of two pieces of burnt flint of Bronze Age date c. 2350- 800BC. Both pieces are secondary flakes, with between 5% (Flake A) and 20% (Flake B) remaining, they also both show signs of multiplatform working, with at least two or more striking platforms visable. Flake A, on its dorsal surface has three narrow parallel negative flake scars from previous flake removal, and another two negative flake scars struck at a 45 degree angle. The ventral surface, has two bulbar scars at the proximal end and weakly defined conchoidal ripple marks leading off the distal end; however the act…

Burnt flint flake of unknown date. The flint is a secondary flake with cortex surviving on the left dorsal face. It is extensively fire crackled and white in colour, sub-rectangular in plan and triangular in section. There is possible evidence of flake removal prior to the burning on the upper right side of the dorsal face. There is no other evidence of retouch. The flint is 49mm long x 31.6mm wide x 19.7mm thick. Weight 27.4g.

Three pieces of worked / knapped burnt flint dating from the later Mesolithic to early Neolithic periods, circa 7000 - 3500 BC. All of the flints are debitage which may have been used as 'pot boilers'. No cortex survives indicating that the flints are from the tertiary phase of working of the core. The surfaces of all 3 flints indicate damage caused by exposure to heat with the characteristic white-grey colour, hackled appearance and cuboid fractures of burnt flint. Column 1:- Trapezoidal in plan and lentoid in cross section. All edges damaged in antiquity. A bulb of percussion and…

Two pieces of worked and burnt flint. One is too small to identify if it is part of a blade or core although there is a small section of the dorsal face remaining with scars from parallel removals. It weighs 2.38 grams. The other is probably a flake and has part of the bulb of percussion remaining on the ventral face and scars from previous removals at nearly 90 degrees on the dorsal face. It weighs 7.28 grams. Both have the characteristic white-grey colour, hackled appearance and cuboid fractures of burnt flint. Other material from the site dates potentially from the Mesolithic to…
