A complete pointed flint handaxe dating to the Paleolithic. Handaxes were manufactured in Britain from 500,000 BC to 40,000 BC. The tool has been bifacially worked with removals struck from either edge on both faces. There is one small oval area of original cortex on the ventral face measuring 16.5mm x 10.7mm. A complete Neolithic flint axe probably dating to 4000-2350BC. The axehead is sub-rectangular in plan and pointed oval in cross section. It has a crescentic cutting edge from which it tapers to a rounded butt end. Removal scars are evident on both the dorsal and ventral faces, but with the area around the cutting edge showing signs of polishing. The flint is of a pale grey, with notable inclusions. A Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age flint scraper, probably dating to 3300-800 BC. The scraper is sub-piriform in plan with a sub-trapezoidal cross section. Numerous irregular removal scars survive of the dorsal face, struck from multiple platforms and with one being hinged. The bulb of percussion is similarly hinged, and with prominent ripple marks. There is short, oblique, scalar retouch along the right edge of the dorsal face. The flake is of a grey-brown flint with pale inclusions. A Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age flint scraper, probably dating to 3300-800 BC. The flint is sub-square in plan, with a slight spur on the left edge of the dorsal face. The bulb of percussion is relatively diffuse, with conchoidal ripples visible. The ventral face also exhibits a hinged removal struck from the spur, which has cortex at its end. There is short, low angle, scalar retouch at the proximal end of the right dorsal edge. Length: 29.99mm Width: 31.66mm Thickness: 6.76mm Weight: 6.10g.
