Flint blade of probable late Mesolithic/Early Neolithic date (6500 - 3300 BC). Possibly a microburin (waste product from microlith production). The flint is light grey in colour, is opaque and is patinated. It is sub-rectangular in plan with an oblique, snapped end, and is flat-elliptical in cross-section. There is no obvious retouch. The blade appears to have a snapped edge at the distal end. The flint is 34.3mm long x 14.2mm wide x 4.2mm thick and weighs 2g.

Flint blade of broad Mesolithic date (8000 - 4000 BC). The flint is grey/brown in colour with some patination and is mainly opaque but translucent at the thinner edges. It is sub-rectangular in plan and flat-elliptical in cross-section. There is short, scaled, low angle, retouch to the curved proximal end carried out from the dorsal face, probably platform preparation and the flint has been snapped at the distal end. It could be a microburin. The flint is 16.5mm long x 15mm wide x 3.25mm thick and weighs 0.88g.

A broken flint blade of Mesolithic date, dating from about 9000 BC - 4000 BC. The tertiary flint is mottled white in colour, is opaque and is partially patinated. It is sub-rectangular in plan with an oblique distal end, and trapezoid in section. The blade has two parallel ridges along the dorsal face. There is no retouch visible. The proximal end of the flint is snapped and a crack in the flint is possible evidence of heat alteration. The flint is probably part of a blade discarded after a microlith has been formed from the rest of the blade. It is 11.4mm long x 7.3mm wide x 1.1mm th…

A broken Mesolithic or Neolithic flint blade or side scraper dating from about 8500 BC - 2100 BC. The major parallel ridges are a result of previous removals of the same core. There is some light working and visible cortex along the curved dorsal edge of the object. The broken edge is slightly concave and uneven; the patina on the broken end is a lighter grey than that of the dorsal and ventral faces. The flint is patinated with a medium creamy grey colour and some dark patination shows through the retouched areas; the ventral face also includes flecks of white patina within the proxi…
