Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age transverse arrowhead.
The artefact is a thin triangular tertiary flake made from medium grey flint with a region of lighter grey and occasional pebble cortex like inclusions. The flint has a medium gloss patina.
The arrowhead is sub-triangular in form with one long edge being slightly more curved that its opposite number. The base of the arrowhead has been fractured leaving a clean linear break at the base of the arrow.
The arrowhead has low angled scaled retouch on both the ventral and dorsal surface. On the dorsal surface thi…

An incomplete single piece of debitage possibly of later Mesolithic or Neolithic date, c. 6500-2400 BC with attempts at retouch on its dorsal surface. The surviving fragment is a a crescent shaped teritarty flake that is a trapezoidal in cross section. The flint is a glossy dark light flint with darker grey bands.
The flint has lost a large portion of its surface through sharp vertical terminations. Nothing remains of the striking platform or bulb of percussion although shallow conchoidal ripples run down the length of the flake on the ventral face. At least three negative removal …

Neolithic knapped and retouched flint tertiary blade dating to c. 4000 - 2100 BC. The blade has a small platform and bulb of percussion at the proximal end and comes to a point at the distal end. There are very clear, almost v shaped, ripples of percussion across the lower half of the ventral face. Three are three earlier flake removals on the dorsal face indicate that similar blades were removed from the same core. On the ventral face there is significant short, sub-parallel and semi-abrupt retouch on the right side mesal edge creating notches with plain areas between. This deliberat…

Part of a probably Mesolithic flint blade, probably dating to the period c.9000-4000BC. It is a secondary piece with one small patch of pebble cortex surviving near its proximal end. The artefact is rectangular with a triangular cross section. The dorsal face has two negative blade scars from previous removal. One of the mesal edges have areas of chipping. There is a snap at the proximal end, thus removing the striking platform and bulb of percussion. The flint is a medium grey with areas of mottled white. The pebble cortex is a medium brown and orange colour.
