A flint thumbnail scraper of Late Neolithic to Bronze Age date.
The scraper is struck off a secondary flake which has orangey red thin (2.3mm) pebble cortex around most of its dorsal edge.
The scraper is trapezoidal in plan and trapezoidal in cross section. It has with a curved distal end which shows short, sub-parallel semi abrupt retouch along the entire distal edge on the dorsal face. The dorsal face also demonstrates only one earlier flake removal, struck in same direction as the scraper. The ventral surface shows no retouch, although the distal end has a few small chips. Th…

The flint has a variety of colours, and forms. four are very dark grey, three are medium grey and one is a translucent brown. All bar the translucent flint and one dark grey flint have mottled white inclusions. The pebble cortex surviving on those secondary flakes is a thin layer (c.< 0.5mm) and is light red in colour.

It is sub-rectangular in plan although the right edge, as seen from the dorsal surface, is slightly longer than the left giving it a point. Its right edge has small short traces of low angled, sub-parallel retouch in its central third above which is a small v-shaped chip. The dorsal surface shows two negative flake removals while the ventral surface has none. Its left …

A complete possible hammer stone of probable Neolithic date (c.4000 - 2400 BC). The object is a flint pebble with an irregular but rounded form. The object has been damaged in multiple points with much of the thick white pebble cortex missing. the flint is a light grey with frequent light brown and mottled white patches and inclusions.
One region of cortex has a series of small percussion marks giving the surface a dimpled/pecked surface. This likely occured through the repeated hammering of this point of stone hundreds of times. Presumably when used as a hammer stone in the knappi…

A Neolithic flint flake dating to the period c. 4000 - 2350 BC. A tertiary medium greying brown flint with occasional off white inclusions. The dorsal surface has three flake scars one of which appears to be in a different direction to the other two. On the right edge as seen from the dorsal surface, close to the distal end is a semi-circular notch and traces off occasional very short, semi-abrupt retotuch marks. This serves to accentuate the distal point of the flint and to soften the notch.
The proximal end has been lost to a hinge fracture removing the bulb of percussion and str…
