A post-medieval/modern gun-flint from a flintlock musket. The flint is rectangular in plan and cross-section with sloping edges to give it a trapezoidal side view. The flint is mid-grey in colour. The flintlock was introduced in the middle of the 16th century but it was not until the reign of William III that the flintlock became the main regulation firearm for the British Army. A flint core dating to the Prehistoric period, (8300-800BC). The object is sub-rectangular in plan and sub-triangular in cross-section. On the dorsal face three parallel blades have been removed. A natural flint 'pot-lid' which has been retouched and is of possible Neolithic date . The object is a dark grey, lightly patinated pot-lid which has been retouched around the edges. The retouch is short and scaled and semi-abrubt. It does not extend around the object completely but is deliberate and could have been used to create an ad-hoc tool for cutting or scraping rather than a specific tool.

A flint core probably dating to the late Mesolithic period, (7000-4001BC) The object is sub-triangular in plan 'crescent-shaped' in cross-section. It has a large striking platform measuring 9.82mm in width and 16.02mm in length. The core is conical with one platform and parallel striking narrow blades. The striking platform has sub-parallel abrupt dressing on each edge. A minimum of six blades have been removed from the dorsal face of the core. The ventral face is smooth and concave. The core is mid-brown in colour.

A complete late Neolithic (2500-2100) 'British Oblique' flint arrowhead, with the 'tail' extended to form a long tang. The flint is light brownish grey in colour with white to one side of the dorsal (upper) face. The dorsal face has been extensively worked. The ventral (lower) face is smooth with visible ripples. Retouching is visible along all the edges. The tip of the arrowhead is complete. The top of the 'tail' or tang measures 16.60 x 7.28mm.

A broken stone axehead dating to the Neolithic (c 4000-2500BC). The axe is sub-trapezoidal in plan with a convex curved faces. Both the butt end and cutting face have been knapped and reflaked, perhaps for a secondary use or for re-hafting. The faces of the axe are worn with scratch marks and the polished surface is faded. The stone is a light greenish brown colour, possibly a volcanic rock originating from the Scarfell Pike area of the Lake District.

An incomplete polished stone axe dating to the Neolithic period, (3500 BC - 2100 BC). The object is a pointed oval in cross-section and is oval in plan. The axe has suffered from various damage and losses particularly at the butt end which appear to be recent. The butt end measures 49.77mm in width and is 3.58mm thick. The cutting edge is almost complete and measures 1.62mm in thickness. The stone is a mottled light brown and grey smooth stone.
