Probably a Clactonian flint tool, made from creamy-grey flint. Part of the cortex survives near the edge. It is a tool made from the core; marks of secondary and tertiary flaking clearly visible along the cutting edge. From the same field come a further five pieces of flint (flakes) and two pieces of ochre. The Clactonian industry involved striking thick, irregular flakes from a core of flint, which was then employed as a chopper. Early Bronze Age worked flint barbed and tanged arrowhead made from white/light grey flint. One barb and tang missing, but otherwise complete. There is retouch to all surfaces and the edges of the blade were carefully knapped. The barbs of the arrowhead are square, and this and the size of the arrowhead suggests that it is of the Sutton b type, common in the Early Bronze Age (Green 1980, 117-143). The photograph was kindly supplied by the finder.
