A near complete probable polished stone axehead dating from the Neolithic period. The axe is sub-rectangular in plan, oval in cross section. The axehead tapers outwards with slightly convex sides from the narrower butt to the curving cutting edge. The butt of the axe may be slightly truncated. Both faces of the axe have been polished as evident from the smooth surface of the stone as well as visible markings on the faces. A neolithic stone axe roughout. The piece is roughly sub rectangular in form, oval in cross section. From the predominantly flat butt, the sides run parallel before tapering to a rounded end (which if completed would have formed the cutting edge of the axe). Both sides of the roughout are gently convex. Visible flakes have been knapped from the roughout, and the piece resembles the rough shape of an axe, however the find has been discarded prior to completion. A sub-triangular, barbed and tanged flint arrowhead. The arrowhead is quite crude in form. It is manufactured from a mainly opaque mid greenish brown flint but with a band of white around the point, and the tip of the point is translucent orange. The extreme tip of the point appears to have broken off in antiquity. One face of the arrowhead is very slightly concave, the other is very slightly convex. Long struck stone blade (flake). It is made from a 'tuff' which is a metamorphosed sedimentary stone of particularly fine texture. That is to say, the stone was originally sedimentary but has been altered by later geological processes (as opposed to a purely volcanic stone such as at the axe factory site at Graig Lwyd). Possible broken stone axe or scraper. Very irregular sub-trapezoidal shaped stone, the ends are roughly parallel but the edges converge towards the butt end. Heavy cream coloured patina survives on much of the upper face of the object but has been removed on the lower surface and edges. The wider end has been worked with the removal of quite large flakes by invasive, stepped, and abrupt retouch. The other narrower end appears to be roughly broken rather than worked. The flint is generally a mid-grey colour, however one face of the object is largely covered in a light cream cortex representing the original surface of the pebble. The flint is generally a mid-grey in colour, but one face appears to have developed a slight white patina suggesting this may have been an original 'natural' surface of the flint pebble prior to working. The gunflint is a dark grey in colour and trapezoidal in plan and in section. The dorsal face is very flat representing one large facet with a small concave scar at one edge probably the result of later damage. Approximately half(?) of a flaked and ground stone Graig Lwyd axe comprising the butt end. Narrow oval in section. The long side edges are facetted, or flattened and measure 6.62mm wide towards the front and narrowing to 4.69mm wide at the butt. This feature doesn't continue around the butt edge. Overall the surface is generally smooth but irregular with several of the deeper flaking sites surviving as shallow, rough concave scars and more particularly on one face than the other. A scatter of flints found in 1998. According to the finder they were found on the seaward side of a field wall near Ogof Llwyd, at Penrhyn, east of Aberdaron. They comprise 10 small flakes and blades, some of which may have been formed by natural processes. The majority are broken and may be waste flakes left as the result of knapping. Due to the occurrences of cortex in relation to flake size, it is likely that the flakes are the result of working pebbles.
