A flint axehead. A flaked axehead. Made on a nodule of pale grey-brown flint, now patinated to matt off-white and with iron staining along the flake ridges. Flaked on both faces from the edges, butt and cutting edge. All the cortex has been removed. The side edges are largely straight. It has a wide, slightly convex, cutting edge formed by flake removals from the edge into the body of the axehead. The axe tapers to the butt and has a lentoid cross section. A flint arrowhead. A barbed and tanged type made on a tertiary flake of pale grey-brown flint. It has a glossy patina. A elongated triangular shape with a long central tang and short barbs. The notches forming the barbs are curved and relatively shallow. One face has invasive, scalar pressure flaking along both edges. The other face has some invasive pressure flaking but less regularly applied around a pre-exisiting deeper flake scar. There is slight damage to the tip. Slightly plano-convex cross-section with a large area of unmodified, worn cortex/nodule surface forming part of one margin and part of the central axial ridge  on the more convex face. Primary flaking comprises large, broad, shallow flakes, with some finer dressing to refine the almost straight cutting edges (no 'S' twist evident). A handaxe made on a rounded nodule of mottled mid to dark grey flint. The butt is principally formed from worn, chalky cortex, modified by an area of steep flaking on both faces.
