A complete knapped gun-flint with lead casing from a flintlock musket of the Post Medieval period, dating from c. AD 1500 - c. AD 1750. The flint is broadly square in plan and trapezoidal in section. The flint a mid grey in colour going darker towards the bottom. The flint comes to a sloped point at the top, there is some damage to the top of the tip, and to the sides. The object is enclosed on all four sides with a lead casing which comes about two thirds of the way up the object, the lead casing appears folded on the left side of the reverse. The reverse is flat.
