A Post Medieval silver sixpence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603). The coin has a pheon initial mark and was minted at London tower mint in 1564. The obverse legend reads ELIZABETH D G AN FR ET HI REGINA; and the reverse POSVI? DEV AD/IVTORE/M MEV. There is very slight damage to the periphery of the coin but otherwise it is unclipped and complete; North, English Hammered Coinage (1991) p134, No.1997.

A post medieval silver coin; a threepence of Elizabeth I (1558 - 1603). the coin is from the second issue, has an Eglantine initial mark (1574 - 1578) and is dated 1575. See North number 1998. The coin has been pierced by punching a hole in the centre of the flan from the reverse, with the removed metal being pushed onto the front of the coin.
