A heavily abraded fragment of a Roman mortarium. The fragment has a hard fired sand-tempered fabric with oxidised reddish exterior and a reduced grey core. One side (the inside surface) has sub angular and sub rounded flint clasts embedded onto it to create a grinding surface.

A handle from a Roman jug or small amphora. The fabric is hard fired and sandy, oxidised reddish brown to buff coloured, with fine sand inclusions. The handle is 27.3mm wide with a rounded sub rectangular cross section and has a pair of parallel grooves running down the outside.

The fabric is hard fired and orange-pink with infrequent dark inclusions and a reddish brown slip. The sherd is curved and the exterior has a moulded scene depicting a semi-clad female figure, possibly Venus, partially draped and seated facing left, with a beaded border of the panel running down the sherd on the right hand side.

A decorated body sherd from the lower portion of a large bowl of Gaulish samian ware, possibly of Dragondorff form 29 or 37 and dating to the 1st to early 3rd century AD. The fabric is hard fired and orange-pink with a reddish brown slip. The sherd is curved and the exterior has a moulded hunting scene with a hare, running left, large palm fronds to the right and a running border of spirals below. Beneath this is a change in angle to the base.

A fragment of an abraded Roman oxidised vessel with lead vessel mend.
The fragment is from probably a large bowl with very thick rim. Its posssible to estimate that the diameter of the vessel would have been above 300mm although less that 10% of the circumference now survives. The rim is everted and has a slight ledge before forming the body. The vessel has been repaired with an in situ lead vessel mend which is circular in cross section on the interior of the vessel and broadly rectangular on the exterior of the vessel.
