An abraded rim sherd from a medieval glazed jar of orange sandy ware. The fabric is orange coloured with a reduced grey core and tempered with flint, chalk and calcite. The rim is everted and around 25.5mm wide with an original diameter around 200mm and a recessed seat for a lid. The inner surface has a dark green glaze which doesn't reach the rim.

A handle sherd dating to the medieval period, likely part of a cooking pot. The sherd is a short handle in its entirety that has broken at the point where it would have met the body of the vessel, the surface roughly textured and largely abraded. The sherd can be identified as a handle by its shape and a thumb-shaped indentation on the upper surface, which indicates how it would have been held. A group of 21 sherds dating to the medieval period, consisting of 13 body sherds, 7 rim sherds, and 1 base sherd. The largest six body sherds are all salmon orange coloured, with varying levels of grey sooting on the exterior surfaces of most. All six contain moderate to abundant quartz inlcusions and sparse to moderate inclusions of mica. All six have abundant inclusions of small dark brown and grey that are mostly angular. A fragment of the handle possibly from a Brill / Boarstall ware jug. The fragment is now triangular including one point where it was attached to a vessel from which it narrows to a rounded break. One surface is slighlt concave whilst the other is domed giving it a flat crescent shape in cross section. The domed section has incised lines running from the pot side into the handle while the reverse has a series of irregular holes which are mostly oval in shape. The base of a ceramic vessel, possibly a crucible of Medieval to Post Medieval date. The base is circular, broken on one edge and tapers slightly before expanding into the shallow wall. The wall varies in height but enough survives around the hollowed interior. Within the hollow ares everal concentric grooves. The fabric is hard and slightly sandy with inclusions including sparce <1mm angular black sand and mica. Patches of a dark brown slip survives on the external surfaces and within the hollow interior. A large and heavily abraded rim sherd of medieval shelly ware, dating to c. 1080-1250. The fabric is a reduced grey with oxidised reddish brown exterior and abundant large (<3.5mm) sub angular shell inclusions. The rim has a right-angled bend to the inner surface, with a flat upper face and a rounded lip with a decorative border of finger indentations. The original diameter of the vessel rim was around 350mm.

A medieval rim sherd. The colour of the sherd is inconsistent: the salmon inner surface is the most uniform in colour, and the margins are mostly grey save for the top of the rim which is also salmon-coloured. The outer surface has areas of salmon as well as grey, but also features two distinct areas of green glaze which retains its sheen. The fabric is largely abraded and contains abundant grey inclusions as well as quartz. Mica inclusions are more sparsely visible. A body sherd of a medieval vessel. The predominant colour of the fabric is grey. There are abundant mica inclusions as well as abundant small white inclusions. The inclusions are mostly visible on the inner surface and at the breaks, for the outer surface is mostly covered in a glaze which has a green patina, with moderate spots of black. Where the glaze remains the texture is quite smooth, and becomes rougher on the inner surface.
