Its remaining length is 22mm, but the socket is damaged, so it is likely that it was originally longer. It has a 9mm width at its widest point. It has a thickness of 0.7mm.

A complete cast copper alloy Post Medieval decorated strap mount dating from about AD 1550 - 1750. In plan the mount is sub-rectangular with a plain undecorated, somewhat circular centre. The ends of the mount form triple lobes similar to a fleur de lys. The underside of the strap is flat, bar two projections for fixing, one of which survives better than the other. The overall surface of the mount is worn, and it has a dark green to brown patina. The mount is 24.4mm long, 9.3mm wide, 3.8mm thick and weighs 1.96g.

An incomplete, post-Medieval copper alloy mount dating to the 17th century.
The mount is flat and asymmetrical with two opposing integral pointed lugs for attachment. in Plan it has a fleur de lis at one terminal then widens outwards into two rounded cormners from which it narrows in a crinoline curve to a narrow terminal which is lost to an old break.The front of the mount has a moulded floriate design within a wreathed border. A complete Post Medieval copper-alloy mount dating to circa AD 1600-1700. Sub-triangular in plan and plano-convex in section. The wide, top edge is transverse with a median rounded edge projecting from the apex. At the other end is a trefoil terminal. Projecting from the reverse are two median circular-sectioned lugs.

An incomplete Iron Age to Roman copper-alloy mount dating to circa 1-100 AD. It is rectangular in plan and concavo-convex in section. It would have had two folded edges, creating a cylindrical shape, although only one now survives intact. The centre of the bar of slightly bulbous. The front face of the bar is decorated at either edge with a series of four parallel longitudinal incised grooves.

A bent but complete cast copper alloy and gilded mount dating from the 16th to 17th century.
The mount is broadly rectangular and make of a flat strip of collar alloy folded over 180 degrees. At one end it has an expanded oval terminal pierced by a circular hole (3.1mm diameter), and the opposite end a secon expanded terminal this time pentafoil in shape with a circular pierced hole (3.6mm diameter). At the midway point between these terminals is a third expanded section this one slightly pear shaped the point of maximum width being slightly offset to be closer to the oval terminal.

A small copper-alloy belt or strap mount of Medieval to Post Medieval date, c.AD 1300 - 1600.
The mount is in the form of a scallop shell, severely worn from deposition. The detail of the scallop shell has been lost due to wear and corrosion. On the rear of the mount is an integral attachment rivet, bent to run parallel to the face of the mount with a pointed tip.

An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy bar mount dating to circa AD 1200-1400. It is sub-rectangular in plan and plano-convex in section. At one end is a square shaped terminal with two opposed circular apertures. From here, it narrows into a rectangular before flaring outwards into another rectangular terminal, which is now incomplete with worn breaks. In the centre of the second terminal is a central circular aperture. The front face has traces of gilding.

A complete possibly Post Medieval silver lozenge shaped mount, dating to perhaps c AD 1500 - 1800. On the underside are the crushed remains of a lightweight wire loop, probably for sewing to cloth. On the outer or upper face there is a roughly incised margin and a series of apparently randomly grouped parallel grooves. They may have been intended to deface the orginal decoration - uncertain.

Post Medieval to Modern (1750 0 1900) silver mount or decorative fitting which has been stamped from a sheet of thin silver. The artefact is sub-rectangular with all the edges being broken or torn. The surface is crumpled so the high-relief design is not clear but there is a central undecorated band running its length. What is visible of the design is a row of high-relief pellets and a scroll-like design. There are two small rivet holes which have been punched through suggesting the artefact was mounted onto something else.

A complete Post Medieval copper-alloy mount dating to circa AD 1600-1700. Broadly oval in plan with a convex external face and concave interior. A single lug projects from one end. The external face is decorated with two median incised parallel grooves together with a further at the terminal, likely intended to represent an acorn. From the reverse to opposed circular sectioned fixing lugs project.
An identical example is depicted in Read 2016: pg 42, no 334 dated to the 17th century AD.

A copper alloy sheet metal mount or decorative applique disc, 30mm in diameter which has a zoomorphic decoration, in relief, depicting a dog, wolf or lion standing statant, left, with head turned back around to the right. The tails is held up over the back of the body and ends with a tufted tip, which is held just out of reach of the open jaws. An Early Medieval mount dating to circa AD 500-600. It is broadly in the form of an S-shape or stylised figure of eight. It has rounded terminals and straight edges. On the reverse are two circular sectioned lugs. The body is openwork with two circular apertures situated at either end with two broadly triangular apertures situated at either edge of the body. Two incised grooves are positioned either side of the triangular apertueres. Traces of gilding survive on the reverse.

An Early Medieval copper alloy zoomorphic mount, possibly from a strap or horse harness, probably dating to the 11th century AD. The mount is in the form of an animals head and is convex on the front and hollow on the reverse.
