A complete whetstone of uncertain date. The object is oval and made of a dark brown / red stone, rich in mica, posibly a local sandstone. The surface is marked with distinctive lines, indicative of its use as a whetstone. One face is roughly flat and is inscribed with a triangle the covers the whole width of the stone. The dating of whetstones is difficult as they were used from the Bronze Age to modern times. Dimensions: Length 91.95mm; width 40.91mm; thickess 29.4mm; weight 150.3g

A complete ground and polished Type 1, Cornish greenstone axehead dating to the Neolithic period (c. 4000-2400 BC). The axehead is pointed oval in cross section at the cutting end and butt end. When viewing its side profile (looking at the larger, flatter faces of the axe), it tapers steadily from the broader cutting edge towards the butt end. An incomplete polished whetstone or hone stone. The object is oval in plan and is a crested oval in cross-section. It is smooth and polished on each face with small concretions adhering to one face. A series of linear scratches on the object are visible on each side. The whetstone has been manufactured from very fine-grained, blue-grey stone. A complete Neolithic axehead dated c.3750BC - 2500BC. The object is made of a dark grey-black stone which is comparable to Penmaenmawr stone from North Wales. The object is sub-rectangular in plan and has a lentoid cross-section. The centre of the axehead is rounded and has a partically polished surface that has become pitted as a result of weathering. A complete stone spindle whorl or weight dating from c. AD43 - 1100. The object is circular in plan and sub-rectangular in cross section. In the centre of the object is a circular perforation with an internal diameter of 10mm. Each face is covered with striations and scratches but does not appear to be decorated. An incomplete whetstone, dating to the early Medieval to Medieval period (c.AD 700-1400). The object is broadly triangular in plan tapering in width from the sub-oval pierced end to a rounded point. The wider end or top of the object is pierced with a circular perforation measuring 5mm in diameter. This appears to have been drilled from each face. A stone axe head dating to the mid Neolithic to early Bronze Age (c 3700-2500BC). The axe is sub-trapezoidal in plan with a convex curved blade, tapering sides and a broken indented butt. The curved blade is not symmetrical, sloping down on one side and has slight knapping/abraded marks on the blade. The faces of the axe have very deep abraded grooves, probably post-depositional damage. The stone is a light yellowish brown colour, possibly of a Lake District stone.

An incomplete carved red sandstone face, of possible Medieval dating (1350 to 1450 AD). The back is rough, and has probably been broken off a larger piece of stone. The face has almond shaped eyes, a triangular nose and a slit open mouth. There are remains of a possible beard around his chin, and a possible crown ontop of his head. Worked object probably for use as a whetstone. The object is rectangular in plan and sub-rectangular in cross-section. Each end of the object is slightly rounded. The two sides of the object have both been worked and patterns of ware are visible. One side shows more use than the other, the centre of which is slightly convex. On the wider surfaces of the stone small inclusions of mica can be seen, however none are visible on the used sides. The stone is mid brown in colour. This object may have been in use from Pre-history to the Post-Medieval period. An exact date is unknown.

At the narrower end of the object, a hole has been bored through from one side of the stone to the other, creating a perforation with which to attach the weight.
