A lead sealing dating to the Roman period. The sealing is approximately oval in shape and hemispherical in section. The sealing possesses a circular perforation running its width which would have originally secured the chord which attached the sealing to a package or document. A complete stamped sheet copper alloy clog or shoe clasp of Late Post-Medieval or Modern date (c. AD 1790 - c. AD 1930). Length: 28.1mm; width: 16.9mm and 0.8mm thick. Weight: 2.56g. The main part of the clasp is sub-rectangular in plan and has parallel sides. This part has three evenly spaced sub-rectangular openings.
