A lead seal of the Russian hemp or flax trade.
The seal carries the name of the Quality Control Officer responsible for grading the bundle of hemp or flax and this name is encountered on only one other seal (from Fife, and which is at present somewhere in the accessioning process in Kirkcaldy Museum).
The obverse (undated) sides of these two seals are identical.

Copper alloy finger ring, probably medieval in date.
The outside surface of the ring is decorated with lines which make a zig-zag pattern and a dot in each triangle. The inside surface is plain and smooth. It is D-shaped in section. The ring has been cast but the decoration appears to have been added after casting. Cast copper alloy finger rings were found in London dating to the medieval period (Egan and Pritchard; 1991; 331-2).

Late medieval/early post medieval cast copper alloy ring type thimble (sewing ring), c.1450-1620. Splayed base, tapering towards the top (this indicates that this is an early sewing ring, c.1500). No decoration or borders. Spiral of four lines of individually drilled indentations of varying diameters (c.0.8-1.6mm); five of the indentations have been worn through. Mid brown-green patina, light green in the indentations. Height (length) 9.25mm, diameter 19.73-22.45mm, thickness 0.6-1.2mm, weight 3.76g.

A cast copper-alloy strap end of the Early Medieval period. A Thomas type A strap end dating to the 8th-11th centuries. The strap end is corroded to an extent that most decoration is obscured. However, two rivet holes are visible on the upper face at the split end and the mouse head terminal retains a little detail. The basic outline of the central panel is also visible, as well as a beast's leg in the panel. The back is undecorated. The split end is infilled by corrosion and soil.

Medieval buckle; Cast copper alloy single loop buckle with openwork design incorporating two 3-dimensional beasts in relief. Buckle has a D-shaped frame which widens and deepens towards the back of the frame to give a broad, concave, 3-dimensional cross section. This is decorated in openwork moulding with two opposing beasts, possibly dogs, standing chest to chest but with both heads facing forwards. Roman or Early Medieval copper-alloy finger ring, possibly created as a reuse of an earlier object. The ring consists of a flat band of metal which has been bent round to form a ring. The two ends of the band do not meet, leaving a small gap in the circle of the ring. One end of the band of metal tapers and curves to a pointed terminal but the other end is rather crudely cut off square across the band. A fragment of a cast copper alloy trumpet brooch, comprising the incomplete head and part of the bow, of early Roman date (c. AD 75-175). The lower bow, spring and pin are missing. The brooch's head is sub-circular in plan. The bow is curving with a debased acanthus moulding at the mid-point. The rest of the bow has broken off beside the acanthus moulding.
Dimensions: length 30.37mm, width of head 8.7mm, width of acanthus moulding 9.08mm, thickness 11.91mm. Weight 7.63g.

Cast copper alloy two piece buckle of later post-medieval date (1660 - 1720). The frame of the buckle is sub-rectangular in plan (rectangular with rounded corners), and bowed in profile. The frame has been drilled to allow for a central iron axis bar through which the pin and strap-end would be fixed. The iron axis bar is missing has been lost – presumably through corrosion as large amounts of concreted orange (iron) corrosion is present on the frame close to the drilled holes. A ring which splits into three sections then joins again to complete the ring. It is 8.5mm wide when it is a single strip, when it splits into three it widens to 23mm. The central strip follows the line of the ring, the two exterior strips are at 45degrees to this.
