A white metal coin, probably a modern copy of a shilling of James I (1603 - 1625), second coinage (1604 - 1619), trefoil mintmark dating from 1613. Compare North number 2101. The coin appears to be a cast copy with the edge trimmed to remove the casting seam. This has produced an very square and shiny edge to the coin. The metal does not feel or sound like silver, and seems to be softer. The faces of the coin, especially the reverse are indistinct with a dimpled surface, often seen on cast imitations. The imitation coin is probably 20th century in date.

Complete copper alloy Post-Medieval coin weight. The weight is roughly square in shape. The upper face has the raised figures 'X.V.s' below a crown and the reverse face has a circular groove around the outer edge with a raised sun symbol surrounded by lions and fleur de lis in the centre. A shiny green patina remains in some places, but the surface is fairly erroded and pitted. Weights bearing the sun symbol are for the spur ryal (or rose noble) of James I (Withers 1995, p.38).
