An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester Dolphin brooch, dating to the 1st/ 2nd century, between AD 43 - 200 (length: 38.5mm; width at wings: 21.5mm; thickness/ depth: 15mm; weight: 8.9g). The brooch is T-shaped in plan and most D-shaped in section. The semi-cylindrical wings (length of wing at either side of head: 5.5mm) are undecorated with the iron axis bar visible at either side. Ceramic spindle whorl diameter 31mm, height 17mm, weight 14.23g. The artefact is conical shaped with slightly convex sides, there are four concentric lines on the top surface and two on the underside. 10mm in diameter in the centre, light grey fabric. The ceramic used for the spindle whorl is similar to the fabric of grey were vessels from the Roman Period, therefore a roman date is ascribed.

An incomplete cast copper rowel spur of probable seventeenth century date. The end of one arm and the rowel are missing and in its current state the spur measures 120.6mm by 67.3mm by 12.7mm and weighs 71.4g. The surviving terminal is in the form of a figure-eight, with one corrosion filled loop in line with the arm and the second set perpendicular. Cast copper alloy terret ring length 64mm, width 25mm, thickness 16mm, weight 32.98g. The attachment bar appears to have been squared in cross-section but is truncated at the base of the frame. Separating the attachment bar from the frame is a lagged semicircular collar. Medieval weight; Cast lead weight of bell shape: The weight is essentially a circular cone, although it flares out towards the bottom and is flattened at the top.
