A fragment from the copper alloy outer shell of a medieval steelyard weight, dating from AD1250-1300. It carries a raised shield with a thick decorated border and a central motif of a lion rampant. The fragment is too worn to see details of the heraldry. The fragment has a brownish-green patina. It has a patchy, light brown patina. It is 41mm long, 33.3mm wide and 11.8mm thick. A lead casting sprue or jet. The object is sub-circular in plan with an undecorated, flat upper surface. The lower surface is concave with an integral, uneven short stub set slightly off-centre. This stub shows evidence of being cut across several times with a blade or snips. To either side of this stub are circular indentations which may indicate where the vent holes for the casting were situated. Dating of this object is problematic as such techniques of casting were in use over a long period of time but other finds in the same area suggest a medieval date.

An incomplete cast copper alloy suspension swivel for an oil flask. This is one half of the swivel and comprises of two axial loops what would have formed the centre of the piece, interspersing these loops would be a corresponding parallel set forming the other half (now missing). The loops are encrusted with iron corrosion suggesting that an iron pin formed the axis of the swivel. Joining the two loops together on the side is a square cross-section rod. Fragment of a medieval copper alloy 'lid' or cover from a censer or lamp, comprising part of a cast openwork dome, curved thickened base broken across two of three trapezoidal perforations with remains of two horizontal rows of opposed triangular perforations alternately point up and point down (two of each survive). Multliple file marks are present on the relatively smooth exterior surface, the interior surface is rough and unfinished. Diameter not measurable. Surviving width 24mm. Surviving height 23mm. 12th-13th century.

The frame is broadly trapezoidal, with one edge flaring into two extended arms terminating in expanded lobes and forming an asymmetric design. An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester derivative (Dolphin) of Roman date (AD 43 to AD 65). Approximately 75% of the brooch is present, consisting of the head, bow and wings. Part of the catch-plate is present at the base of the bow, but the pin and spring are missing, presumably lost in antiquity. The bow head is hump-like, and angular (comma shaped) in profile. Incomplete medieval copper alloy spur buckle with grooved rectangular lobe in the centre of the outside of the trapezoidal frame. On the integral plate there is a pin hole next to a hole containing a rivet. All of the plate just beyond a transverse groove and a pair of lateral extensions is missing. Extant length 21.2mm. Width of frame 15 - 12mm. Width of plate 6 - 9mm. 13th - 14th century.

Incomplete post-medieval copper alloy toy musket, barrel with pan, broken where stock narrows, most of trigger guard and all of butt missing. Decorated with two ring-and-dot on both faces of the surving part of stock, remains of transverse lines on the faceted barrel and bordering the muzzle. An incomplete cast copper alloy belt mount or strap fitting of Post Medieval date, circa AD1600-1700. The belt mount is sub triangular in plan. One end tapers to a rounded point, the other has a stunted tri-lobed knop. The front face has a suggested longitudinal centre line with three grooves to either side (six grooves in total) which appear like inverted chevrons. Incomplete and abraded Roman copper alloy sprung Dolphin (Colcheter derivative rear hook) brooch, spring, pin, rear hook, outer end of one wing and part of the catchplate missing. The outer ends of the wings are decorated with a flute and there are three closely spaced fine grooves on either side of the bow. Four longitudinal grooves are visible at the top of the D-sectioned bow but have been removed by abrasion further down. Estimated wingspan 23mm. Length 52.5mm. c.43 - c.65.
