A copper alloy pommel of 'cocked hat' type, dating to the Early medieval period, c. AD 500-700.
The pommel is triangular in shape with slightly concave sides, with a rounded top point, and pointed flat ends. The open end is rectangular in shape. The inside of the pommel is hollow. There is damage to one of the edges of the pommel, and it is worn. There is no visible decoration. It has a light green brown patina, and measures 33.9mm in length, 13.6mm in width, 12.2mm in height, and weighs 2.33g.
Similar to Macgregor and Bolick 1993, page 238, number 46.3.

A copper alloy possible sword pommel, dating from the post medieval period, c. AD 1500-1650.
The pommel is circular, with on side flattened to a circular panel. There is a circular indentation in the centre. The pommel is hollow. At one end there is a circular perforation, at the other a square perforation. The pommel has a light green patina with red brown patches. It measures 20.3mm by 15.4mm, and weighs 4.86g.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy sword pommel (Oakeshot Type J) of medieval date, c. AD 1300-1400. The fragment is rounded, with a raised ridge running across the centre. In the centre of this is a rectangular perforation. Either side it is slightly rounded, and concave, the edges are worn and broken. On the inside on the pommel there is red brown iron staining. The pommel has a mid green patina. It measures 52.3mm in length, 40.1mm in width, 2.7mm in thickness, and weighs 29.89g.

A fragment of a copper alloy blade, probably from a sword dating to the late Bronze Age period, c. AD 1000-800 BC.
The fragment is from the blade section of the sword and is sub-rectangular in profile and lenticular in section. The fragment narrows slightly in width and thickness from one transverse break to the other. Both breaks are worn preventing a judgment on whether the breaks are deliberate or not. An incomplete copper alloy late Bronze Age sword hilt probably dating to the Wilburton or Ewart Park metalworking tradition and dating to 1000 - c.800. BC. The terminal is 'fishtailed', and 31.8mm wide, with flared, pointed ends and a small concave depression in the middle. The hilt plate is 19.6mm wide and presents two raised parallel ribs along its length on both faces, with a broad central groove between. The object has broken across the first rivet hole which has a casting seam around the inside edge. The object is heavily abraded and all breaks are patinated.

The pommel is comprised of five splayed lobes which ascend in height from either side towards a central larger and taller lobe, creating a symmetrical effect. An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy sword or dagger dating to circa AD 1450-1550. The extant piece consists of a complete pommel. It is discoidal in plan with a convex tap with moulded scalloped decoration. The decoration surrounds a central circular aperture, which has now filled with corrosion. The underside is plain.The iron tang would have slotted into the aperture. It is consistent with 'scent-stopper' pommels such as NMS-99CA03.

A complete copper alloy probable pommel from a sword, dagger or mace of probable Late Medieval to Post Medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1600).
The probable pommel is almost cuboid in shape and hollow. The top of the probable pommel is circular at the top, with the edges bevelled to turn a square into a circle. A sub circular perforation is at the centre of the top, with an internal diameter of 7.2 mm. Several depressions are present at the surface suggesting it has been impacted by a heavier tool. An incomplete Anglo saxon sword Petersen Type L or Z.
The sword consists of the hilt, pommel, guard and a portion of the blade. The pommel is U-shaped and sub-rectangular in cross section. The hilt above this is rectangular and extends towards a thicker guard. The guard is U-shaped in plan and rectangular in cross section. Above these the blade is trapazoidal ending in a transverse ragged break. The object is heavily corroded.
The sword is c.181mm long,120mm wide and 30.8mm thick at the hilt. It is 23mm thick at the pommel and the blade c.9mm thick. It weighs 341 grams.

The pointed wrought iron tip of a broad-bladed sword, retained within a scabbard chape with a pointed end and an openwork display side with a moulded pattern of interlaced strands discerned between oval holes which are partly blocked by rust extruded from the blade. Cast fragment of a long narrow leaf-shaped blade. A flattened rhomboid section at the narrower end of the fragment and the wider end is rendered lentoid. The mid rib is still visible, with old breaks at either end of the section and the cutting edge is uneven.
Measurements: The length is 37.88mm, the width is 24.94mm and the weight is 25.53g.
